Mr Jason Chiu
Chairman of Hong Kong Startup Council

Jason Chiu is the founder and CEO of Cherrypicks, a leader in mobile innovation, specializing in making cities smarter and growing the eLearning community. Jason is an industry icon in Hong Kong well known for his successful entrepreneurial experience in mobile innovation. With disruptive Online-to-Offline (O2O) solutions as well as patent-pending products and technology inventions, Cherrypicks has represented Hong Kong and China in many world stages and won over 100 local and international awards. The early entrepreneurial journey of the company was also featured as a Harvard Business School case study (#N9-807-106). Cherrypicks' solution business and Cherrypicks alpha, another startup spun off with the company’s product business, were strategically merged with NetDragon (HKSE:777) in 2014 and 2016 respectively. Apart from leading both entities, Jason is also a mentor and angel investor for a number of startups, incubators and co-working spaces to give back to startups in Hong Kong and Silicon Valley.

Jason is the Honorary President of Group 30 “Creative Industries” and Chairman of the Hong Kong Startup Council under Federation of Hong Kong Industries. He is the Director of the Hong Kong Crowdfunding Professional Association, the Advisor of Crowdfund Capital Advisors, the Vice Chairman of Innovation and Technology Fund - General Support Programme Vetting Committee of Innovation and Technology Commission, a Council member of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council and the University of Hong Kong, a Board member of the Junior Achievement Hong Kong, as well as a Committee member of the HKTDC Belt and Road & Greater Bay Area Committee.

Mr Anthony Lam
CEO and Vice-Chairman of Golden Resources Development International Limited

Anthony is the FHKI Deputy Chairman, a Chairman’s Committee member, Chairman of Group 8 (Food, Beverage and Tobacco Group), Committee member of the International Affairs Committee, and the Finance and Human Resources Committee, and the Advisor of the Education Committee.

The rice products under the Golden Resources Group is one of the earliest awardees of the Q-Mark in Hong Kong, focusing in the product quality and customers experiences, and grew to be the No.1 rice selling company in Hong Kong. Nurturing from the market experiences in Hong Kong, the Group expanded its market to North America, Europe and Australia, and won a lot of loyal customers in those respective markets. The Group also expanded the supply chain management and controls to South East Asia to ensure product quality and suppliability from source, establishing offices in key South East Asian countries.

Anthony had been awarded the Ap Bac Medal from the Socialist Republic of Vietnam for his contribution to the Vietnam rice industry, and the Hong Kong Scout Centre Medallions for his contribution to the Scouting community in Hong Kong. Apart from being active members in different business chambers and associations around the world, Anthony is also a regular speaker in major international conferences.

Professor Kenneth Lee
CEO of Stapworks Stem Cell Limited

Ken is the Founder and CEO of Stapworks Stem Cell Limited. The company manufactures novel small molecules with application in stem cells biology and regenerative medicine. Company products include a Japanese and US patented kit for transforming normal human skin cells into chemical-induced human stem cells. Stapworks also sell small molecule dyes which specifically distinguish human and animal stem cells from somatic cells. Just out of the pipeline, Stapworks has produce a novel kit which can rejuvenate senescent (old and senile) human adult stem cells and fibroblasts. This rejuvenation kit has potential applications in cell culture meat and the cosmetic industries, as well as in regenerative medicine. Stapworks has exported its stem cell kits and dyes to Norway, South Korea, Switzerland, United Kingdom and Hong Kong.

Ken is also scientific advisor to AVANT Meat Ltd (Hong Kong’s first culture meat company, generating meat from fish stem cells). He is also scientific consultant to ADM Capital Europe LLP, on acquisition of sustainable culture meat companies.

Mr Eric Ng
CEO, Happiness Capital

Eric leads Happiness Capital, the “do well and do good” global venture capital arm of LKK Health Products Group (a Lee Kum Kee company) with the mission to create global impacts and make the world a happier place. Happiness Capital’s current investment portfolio covers US, Europe, Israel and China. The major impact goals focus on food, health, trust, climate change and reduced inequalities. Prior to joining LKKHPG, Eric co-founded AGENDA in 2000 and grew it to the largest independent digital advertising agency in Asia, which was acquired by WPP in 2008. Stayed with WPP after the acquisition as the Chief Client Officer (Asia Pacific) of the WPP Wunderman network. Eric’s first venture was an AI cancer diagnostic and treatment planning startup in the UK and US in 1994, which was acquired. He joined Cap Gemini US, a global consulting group, as Director of e-Business in 1997 to help Fortune 500 companies on digital innovations and transformation. Eric was an AI research scientist and university lecturer in the UK in the early 90s.

Mr Alexander Chan
Co-Director, The Mills Fabrica

Alexander Chan is currently the Co-Director of The Mills Fabrica- a leading Hong Kong based incubator, fund and space/lab/store dedicated towards promoting innovations and sustainable businesses at the intersection of technology and style (“techstyle”). Alexander currently leads investments (Fabrica Fund) and also helps with incubation support and government/ policy related affairs at Fabrica.
